
Amanda McQaid, Head of Vocational Qualifications at Pearson BTEC, visited Pakistan School Muscat to explore opportunities for collaboration in introducing the Pearson BTEC Level 3 qualification across Pakistan Schools in Oman. During her visit, she held a productive meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ameer Hamza, and other key stakeholders to discuss the potential of integrating skill-based vocational education into the school curriculum.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Ishrat Bhatti, Commercial Counsellor and Board Member; Ms. Sanya Mirza, Coordinator of the Board of Directors; the Senior Principal of Pakistan Schools; and Dr. Riffat, Head of Research, Development, and Academic Innovation. Together, they examined the benefits of adopting BTEC qualifications to equip students with essential skills, enhance employability, and prepare them for future challenges.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ameer Hamza emphasized the importance of vocational education in empowering Pakistani students to compete in today’s fast-evolving job market. “Pakistan Schools in Oman are committed to delivering world-class education that combines academic excellence with practical skill development, ensuring our students are prepared for global opportunities,” he said.
Amanda McQaid expressed her admiration for the forward-thinking approach of Pakistan Schools and their vision to offer internationally recognized qualifications like BTEC to their students. “BTEC programs provide students with the practical knowledge and hands-on experience they need to excel in their careers,” she said, adding that she was optimistic about the impact this partnership could have on the students and the wider community.
